This sales manager role suits a candidate with extensive experience within agency recruitment and a proven and thorough knowledge of business development, account management and the 360 recruitment process that is looking to move into a management position while still having the opportunity to contribute directly to placements and revenue.

Knowledge of the life sciences sector would be beneficial, but we're happy to talk to individuals from other recruitment industries.

Your role as a billing manager.

Joining the SEC team as a manager you'll be looking after a team of consultants, supporting them in identifying leads and converting those into business opportunities. You'll lead day-to-day performance of your team, and you'll be responsible for meeting and reporting on team revenue targets, placement targets, development plans and performance excellence. Within your role you'll be:

  • Driving your team to meet financial objectives.

    • You'll manage your team's day-to-day operations, with an overseeing eye on the recruitment processes, placements and opportunities for new business, whilst looking after your own processes and client accounts.

    • You'll be analysing KPI metrics and ensuring standards are maintained within your team, reporting any relevant points to board-level stakeholders.

  • Creating and implementing strategies for business development.

    • You'll be continually developing your team's BD strategy, and working with your colleagues in senior management to streamline business development activity across the business.

    • You'll manage day-to-day business development activities within your vertical, and support your team in aquiring and developing a balanced spread of new clients.

  • Managing a portfolio of clients within your market.

    • You'll provide market intelligence to support our client services team in the bid process for new business opportunities, and promote the service and delivery capabilities of SEC to your existing and new clients.

  • Providing leadership and managing performance.

    • You'll manage your direct reports in line with our company processes, conducting meetings, appraisals and performance reviews and providing hands-on training.

    • You'll develop personal development programmes for your team, highlighting areas for development and encouraging growth within the company.

    • You'll ensure consistency in reporting with all candidate and client processes in line with our compliance policy.

What are the qualities and experience we look for?

We're looking for experience in a life-science recruitment role from a highly organised, self-motivated individual that is driven by the success of their team. To succeed in this role you'll be:

  • A 360 recruitment expert, ideally with a life sciences background or in a sector closely related to one of our specialisms. You'll be armed with tangible examples of your successes in previous high-performance agency recruitment roles.

  • Able to illustrate a successful track record of leading and developing sales teams, with the ability to meet demanding KPIs and financial and service delivery deadlines.

  • A natural communicator. You'll be expected to be comfortable in a client-facing and candidate-facing capacity, but also confident when it comes to expressing your ideas, challenging processes or questioning decisions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and senior management teams and be involved in key decisions regarding your sector and the business as a whole.

  • Confident in passing on your expertise. You'll be expected to provide support to junior-level consultants and provide ideas and support that will guide your team to success.

  • Persistent. As with any sales role, you'll need the drive and ambition to see tricky assignments to their end, and push for information from clients, candidates or prospects.

  • IT competent and administratively sound. From MS Office to the latest recruitment tech, we use a lot of tech to support us in our roles. You'll be expected to comfortably get to grips with this, while ensuring compliance procedures are followed.

  • An ambitious team player. You'll be driven by your own success, while still willing to help those within your team and junior level consultants; you'll actively seek new business opportunities within your own specialism, while keeping an eye on opportunities to cross-sell other areas of SEC.
