A great opportunity for a Principal Programmer has arisen with a global pharmaceutical company based in the UK. This role is an occasion to join an established company and be at the forefront of the development of a new team.

This role will suit an individual with excellent track of records and achievements in SAS programming who wants to take his/her career to the next level and be part of a global team that will provide unique solutions and support to their internal customers.

As a Principal Programmer, you will have a leadership role and will take part in growing the European programming team with clear focus on project contributions including at project lead role for complex and/or large projects.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

*Contribute to the development of the team at all levels (technical and leadership)
*Collaboration with Statisticians on projects
*Responsible for all statistical programming tasks related to project (TFL, analysis datasets, creation of macro’s etc…)
*Access, gather and transform the required data into analysis datasets
*Ensure proper project planning

To succeed in this role, you will have the following profile:

*Master’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Life Sciences or related field
*Demonstrated experience in SAS statistical programming developed in clinical trial environment for safety and efficacy reporting
*Advanced SAS programming skills including data steps, procedures, SAS/MACRO, SAS/GRAPH; Graphics experience; with various operating systems and database expertise
*Experience in CDISC data standards (SDTM, ADaM).
*Publications in professional societies (Phuse, PSI, PharmaSUG, etc.).
*Prior experience of programming and project mentorship of more junior team members
*Broad knowledge and significant experience in developing analysis and reporting statistical programming deliverables (datasets, statistical analyses, report tables, and graphics) for research and development projects
*Understanding of statistical terminology and concepts; Implements statistical methods not currently available through commercial software packages. Ability to design and develop complex programming algorithms
*Excellent team worker with strong project management skills
*Demonstrated understanding of statistics, clinical and data management concepts as applied to drug development within the Pharmaceutical industry.
